But if parents can spare some little extra time, they can easily make yummy popsicles at home with the help of fresh summer fruits. According to a dietician in a Child Care Center in Chino Hills, CA these homemade popsicles are not only a way to beat the heat, but, it is also a clever way to enhance your kid’s fruit intake. Sometimes children do not want to take fruits as they have natural apathy to these things due to immature taste. But, fruits are a part of a healthy diet and they provide us with essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. So, when children are fussing over eating fruits, use your creative brain to introduce fruits and fruit juice to the kids in the form of Popsicles.

Spring and summer market is flooded with colorful fruits with which you can make colorful Popsicle at home. Here are some easy summer Popsicle recipes, given by a caregiver in a reputed Daycare in Chino Hills CA.

Creamy Watermelon and Yogurt Popsicle:

94 percent of watermelon weight is just water and that is why it is an ideal fruit to make popsicles which will help to beat the summer heat. To make it put some freshly cut watermelon in a blender to make the puree and strain the puree with a fine sieve. Again put the puree back into the blender and blend with fresh yogurt. Add honey for a sweet taste. Pour the blended mixture into Popsicle molds. Place a stick into the mold. Chill for 4–5 hours until firm. Serve chilled.

Strawberry Cherry Popsicle:

To make this Popsicle you will need one cup strawberries, one cup cherries, honey to taste, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon strawberry extract, and some water. Put all the ingredients into the blender and blend well. You may add water if you think that the consistency of the puree is too thick. Now pour the mixture into the mold and freeze it to get firm.

Mango Popsicles:

Mango is a popular summer fruit. To make mango Popsicle you will need 1 cup freshly cut mango, 2 tablespoons milk powder, and water. At first, add mango pieces and milk powder to a food processor and blend a smooth puree. Add water to make a thin consistency. You may add sugar if you think that the mixture is adequately sweet. Pour it into the mold and freeze. It is ready.

Coconut Popsicle:

It is a highly refreshing Popsicle of summer. Take green coconut, cut it and pour the water into a glass. Check the water whether it is sweet or not. If it is not sweet enough you can mix sugar or honey in it. Mix well. Now remove soft coconut kernel if there is any from the green coconut. Chop them finely and mix them with coconut water. Pour it into the mold and freeze it for 4–5 hours. Serve chill. This is very refreshing.
